Advantages of PUR type book binding glue

PUR type book binding glue is a reactive polyurethane hot melt adhesive used for book binding. It is an emerging book binding glue in recent years. It is regarded as a perfect upgrade product of the current mainstream EVA type book binding glue. The mature PUR type book binding glue has many advantages that the conventional EVA type book binding glue does not have, or it can well overcome many of the deficiencies inherent in the EVA type book binding glue itself. E.g: PUR type bookbinding adhesive is a reactive polyurethane hot melt adhesive for bookbinding. It is a new book binding glue in recent years. It is considered to be the perfect upgrade product of the current mainstream EVA book binding glue. Mature PUR type bookbinding glue has many advantages that traditional EVA type bookbinding glue does not have, or it can well overcome many inherent shortcomings of EVA type bookbinding glue itself. E.g:

1. Strong temperature adaptability: The temperature adaptability range of PUR type bookbinding glue is -40℃～150℃, while the temperature adapting range of conventional EVA type bookbinding glue is -5℃～80℃. Under extreme temperature conditions, EVA-type bookbinding adhesive books will cause many quality problems due to the physical modification of EVA-type bookbinding adhesive. Books using PUR-type bookbinding glue do not have these problems.

2. High bonding strength: The cohesion of the bookbinding glue itself and the bonding strength between the glue and the paper are very important to the bookbinding strength. The cohesive force of EVA type bookbinding adhesive ≈ 5N/cm; while the cohesive strength of PUR type bookbinding adhesive is ≥15N/cm. In terms of adhesive strength between glue and paper, PUR type bookbinding glue is (30-60)% higher than EVA type bookbinding glue. Most importantly, these mechanical strengths of PUR-type bookbinding adhesives do not significantly decrease with temperature.

3. Good flexibility: PUR type book binding glue has good flexibility, and the amount of glue used is relatively small, so the back glue is very thin, so the books bound with PUR type book binding glue are easier to be flattened than EVA type book binding books, bringing A very pleasant reading experience.

4. The cost is equivalent: the price of EVA type book binding glue is about 1/3 of that of PUR type book binding glue, but the amount is 3 times that of PUR type book binding glue, so the material loss of both costs is roughly the same.

5. Other advantages: PUR type bookbinding glue has the advantages of energy saving, environmental protection, labor saving, low defective rate, obvious differentiated competitive advantage, obvious cost advantage of hardcover, and it is suitable for different types of paper and different types of ink, whether it is or not. Lamination, whether it is UV varnish, etc., can be compatible with other situations; PUR type book binding glue-bound books look neat and beautiful.
